ERT Moves into New, State-of-the-Art Facility

ERT (www.ERT.com), a leading provider of centralized ECG, eClinical technology, ePRO and other services to the biopharmaceutical, medical device and related industries, has announced its transition to a brand new facility in Philadelphia to accommodate the company’s remarkable growth. With one and a half floors of office space, more than double the size of the former premises, the new facility houses the company’s primary headquarters and logistics operations.

This new 58,000 square foot facility is more than double the size of the previous building and also features a new designated 16,000 square foot state-of-the-art logistics operations area situated on the concourse. The logistics operations facility offers access to a secure area and private access to the loading bay, essential for the logistical aspects of sending equipment to sponsors’ sites. This area has also been customized to support the specific testing requirements of the ECG equipment.

With a view to enhancing the working environment and offering superior ergonomics to staff, ERT invested heavily in the design of modern premises with spacious offices and adjustable furniture and equipment to suit different needs. Staff were actively involved in the process, which resulted in developing an open-plan employee-friendly environment with designated areas of workspace. The benefits of a contented workforce help to promote internal collaboration and enhance overall productivity.

The new facility operation was driven and co-ordinated by Amy Furlong, Executive Vice President, Cardiac Safety Operations, ERT. This entire process was completed within a weekend to minimize disruption to staff and customers and ERT ECG receiving centre experienced less than 24 hours of downtime during the weekend.

Amy commented: “Philadelphia remained the location of choice in terms of convenience for existing staff as well as for recruiting new talent. Based on the infrastructure in Philadelphia we are able to bring people from a tri-state area into city centre Philadelphia. With this new facility, we mark the beginning of a new era of innovation and growth. The new offices and logistics operations area allow us to offer our staff an improved working environment and further strengthens our leading position as a provider of best-in-class technology and services for the successful execution of clinical trials.”
